Scientific directions of the department

• The Research Center for Problems of Ecology and Biology of the National Research Center for Environmental Protection and Ethology of the KSPU conducts research in the field of studying the fauna of the region, the current status of rare species, developing a network of specially protected natural areas in Kazakhstan, international and regional projects. Agreements on scientific cooperation have been concluded: with the Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan and OEO Naurzum; Department of Zoology and Ichthyology of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi; Kazakhstan Entomological Society. An international scientific and pedagogical agreement was concluded with the Steppe Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Orenburg).

The research plan of the teaching staff of the Department of Natural Sciences for 2021 has been completed. The teaching staff of the department carries out 1 international research project. As part of the project, the teaching staff of the department cooperates with the organization: Leibnitz University (Hannover, Germany).

As part of the internationalization for the 2021-2022 academic year, foreign scientists Mikhailov Yu.E., Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Ural Technical University of the Russian Federation, Solovyov S.A., Senior Researcher, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of ISES RAS SO RF. During the stay, a number of scientific meetings, advanced training courses for teaching staff, scientific consulting for young scientists and undergraduates of the department were held.

Since 2021, the department has been collaborating in the implementation of master's theses with the teaching staff of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, such as KazNU. Al-Farabi, Kokshetau Pedagogical Institute. Sh. Ualikhanov, North-Kazakhstan University named after Manash Kozybayev, L.N. L.N. Gumilyov, Aktobe Regional University named after K. The results of R&D of teaching staff are represented by participation in conferences of various levels, seminars, round tables, as well as the publication of articles, theses, a monograph, and the work of virtual sites.

• Computer prediction of physicochemical properties and biological activity of chemical compounds (Gubenko MA, Vazheva NV) Using the methodology of applying IR, mass spectra and other molecular descriptors to predict a wide range of properties of chemical compounds. The computer program PROGROC (PROGrammRObustnessCalculation) is used in the research. Vazheva V.V. • Chemical-ecological studies of the environment (Abdykalikova K.A., Zhumagalieva B.M., Tauakelov Ch.A., Ardakova E.A.) Chemical air monitoring, research on the phytochemical evaluation of medicinal plants in the Kostanay region. Defended master's theses, theses.
• The interaction of organic amides with inorganic acids has been studied for a number of years at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry of KazNU named after al-Farabi. Part of the topic - the interaction of trichloroacetamide with inorganic acids (Taurbaeva G.U.) - was studied at the Department of Chemistry of the KSPI. The teaching staff participate in international, regional projects, conferences, seminars, videoconferences, scientific internships. In 2012 Omarova K.I. completed an internship at the Department of Geography of the Faculty of Geology and Geography of Tomsk State University, Russian Federation.

International scientific and practical conferences "Biological Diversity of the Asian Steppes" (2007, 2012, 2017, 2022) are traditionally organized and held, where famous scientists from Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Russia, the United States of America, representing about 50 scientific organizations and institutions.

The Fifi Birdwatcher Club continues its work: it holds annual competitions, meetings with students and pupils of the OOU in Kostanay and Kostanay region. Local history club "Sayahat" for the study of social, physical geography of the Kostanay region (Baubekova G.K., Omarova K.I., Koval V.V., Baimaganbetova K.T.). Members of the local history club "Sayakhat" organize photo exhibitions, thematic events such as the anniversary of K. Satpaev, Sh. Ualikhanov. and etc.

Students actively participate in scientific conferences of the regional, regional and Republican levels and win prizes.
